Palturai presents BusinessGraph at Finovate – Video and transcript
Two weeks ago, we proudly presented our BusinessGraph Platform at Finovate Spring 2022 in San Francisco. Bernhard Ritz, our Head of Sales America, presented the many added values of the platform for the fintech industry to the international audience. If you missed the pitch, you can watch it on video with German subtitles or read the transcript below
Why are you here today?
I assume you want to get to know innovative business models like Palturai, deepen your existing business relationships or get to know a particular fintech better. Who does the company work with? Who owns it? Is it a strong lead? Is it risky to do business with them? What has the management team done in the past? In other words, you are here to strengthen and grow your business network.
A good business network is a central business foundation for every person and every company. Your relationships with customers, suppliers, investors and their relationships with their own customers, suppliers and investors together form a huge network of sales opportunities and risks.
So far, so good. But how can we actually benefit from such a network? Allow me to introduce the Palturai BusinessGraph – a knowledge graph platform that adds a new dimension to your business analysis. We call it Business Graph Insights. At Palturai, we believe that by 2030, Business Graph Insights will have grown to become a core decision-making tool for every successful business. Business Network Insights allow you to see far beyond the boundaries of your company, if not your own ecosystem. Who wants to miss out on sales opportunities and favorable opportunities that are only one or two steps away from your current network? Who wants to remain blind to potential risks? Let’s look at how Palturai can help you grow and see more with Business Network Insights.
Do you know David?
Imagine you have just met David here at the conference and received his business card. David is the CEO of Canon Medical Pharma and is looking for an investor. Let’s take a look at what Palturai tells us about David.
First of all, we search for him, and here he is, based in Cologne. We open his dashboard. The dashboard is divided into tiles. You can see “Master Data”, “Network Graph”, “Ownership Structure”, “Shortest Path”, “Ultimate Beneficial Owner”, “Network Risks”. And we want to know: What kind of business does David run? Who is behind this company? Are there any indications of risks for us? Do we know anyone who knows David?
In our search for answers, we first click on the network graph. And we see: Yes, David is connected to several companies: as an owner – this is shown by the blue lines – and as a beneficial owner – these are the gray lines. The small green circles indicate the number of relationships known to us via a node. Semdor Pharma therefore has 25 known relationships. With one click, we can see shareholders, managing directors and authorized signatories from Germany, the United States, Austria, Denmark and Luxembourg. This gives us a first impression of the international orientation of this company.
The Palturai BusinessGraph makes this possible because it is enriched with data on 60 million companies, 66 million people and over 210 million relationships. And the number is growing every day. This new perspective on the market gives your project an edge over the competition and has a fast ROI.
View into the depths
Let’s take a closer look. This company from Luxembourg is very interesting. If you open their network, we see that one of their investments has filed for bankruptcy. This is signaled by the red icon. Another investment project has been deleted from the commercial register. This is shown by the purple icon. These indications of risks and their automatic monitoring represent an immense strategic advantage. Time is money when you minimize these risks.
You can call up this information in our web interface or with the help of our integrations for SAP or Salesforce. You can have automatic notifications sent to you, e.g. by e-mail, or you can pull the information using our API. Our goal is to make Business Network Insights easy to access and easy to use – as part of your business processes and your business applications.
Let’s go back to the dashboard and analyze David’s ownership. First, we see a very simple visualization of a seemingly straightforward ownership relationship. He owns 100% of two companies. The + shows us that there is more to learn. We see that David owns 27% of Semdor. Semdor itself has five other subsidiaries. We have now moved four steps away from David and learned that he is the UBO of several companies. How much more productive and accurate your research team could be with our BusinessGraph! Especially when you take into account that there are many more complex cases. We can show you a few at our stand.
When we open up the ownership structures of Semdor, we discover that SM InvestCo is at the center of many of these dependencies. We see joint management, and we can identify one person we already know – Jesse. He is already part of our own contact network, as the orange icon shows. If we want to know more about David and his investments, we should talk to Jesse.
Business Network Insights in your company
Ask yourself: If you need to understand complex hierarchies, how would Business Network Insights help you? In Sales & Marketing – to open doors for you? Risk, fraud, compliance – to detect risk factors? In forensic research – to find the needle in the haystack? Or even in data management to improve and enrich customer data? Once again: a few minutes ago, our knowledge of David was limited to a business card. Now we know him as part of the business network. We have a good idea of whether we should do business with him or exercise caution.
What about your company?
I bet you are presented with great opportunities and risks just one, two, three steps away from your current business. The only question is – can you find them?
