It was our great pleasure to introduce our BusinessGraph Platform to the international audience of Finovate Spring 2022 in San Francisco, CA. Bernhard Ritz, our Head of Sales America, gave a comprehensive summary of what we can do for the Fintech industry in seven minutes. You missed it? No problem! Why are you at Finovate today?
Well, I guess you want to learn about new and exciting companies like Palturai. You are here to deepen existing business relationships. Or you want to get a better understanding of a fintech contact. Who are they connected to? Who is behind them? Are they a great opportunity? Is it risky to do business with them? What’s the background of their management team? What have they done before? In other words, you are here to grow and strengthen your business network..
A business network is a fundamental asset for every person as well as every company you know. Your connections to customers, suppliers, investors and their connections to their customers, their suppliers, their investors form a huge network of opportunity and risk.
Sounds good. But how can you capitalize on the value of such a network? Let me introduce you to Palturai Business Graph, a knowledge graph platform that adds a new dimension of analytics to your business. We call them Business Network Insights. At Palturai, we believe that by 2030, Business Network insights will be a fundamental practice in every successful company. Business Network Insights help you to see way beyond your own company and even way beyond your own ecosystem. Who wants to be blind when it comes to identifying great opportunities that are just one, two steps away from your current business? Who wants to be blind when it comes to identifying hidden risks? Let’s take a look at how Palturai can help you see more and grow with Business Network insights.
Imagine you just met David Henn here at the conference, and you got his business card. David is the CEO of Canon Medical Pharma and you talked about a great opportunity. So let’s see what Palturai knows about David. We pull up this name with our search tool and here’s David, based in Cologne. We open his dashboard. The dashboard is structured in tiles. You see master data, network graphs, ownership structures, shortest path, ultimate beneficial owner, network risks, and we want to learn: What is David involved in? Who is behind this company? Are there any risks? Do we know anybody who who knows David?
To answer these questions, we first open the network graph and we see: Yes, David is involved in multiple businesses through ownership – indicated with blue lines – and executive management roles – indicated through gray lines. The little green circles tell us the number of relationships that we know about a certain entity. So, Semdor Pharma has 25 relationships. With one click we see shareholders, managing directors, authorized officers across Germany, United States, Austria, Denmark, Luxembourg. This gives us a first idea about the international nature of his
This is possible because Palturai BusinessGraph is preloaded with sixty million companies, 66 million people and over 210 million relationships, and it’s growing daily. This sophisticated view into the market gives your project a head start and has a fast ROI.
Deep Dive Into The Network
Let’s dive deeper into the network. There’s a company based in Luxembourg and they’re quite interesting. If you open their network, we see that one of their investments is involved in an insolvency procedure indicated with the red icon. Another investment got dissolved by authorities, which is indicated by a purple icon.
Knowing this risks and getting notified when these risks occur is a huge strategic advantage. Time is of the essence when it comes to mitigating these risks. You can consume this information here as part of this web UI or via our SAP or Salesforce application. We have a notification service so you get notified via email, for instance, or you can just use the API. Our goal is to make Business Network Insights easy to use and easy to consume as part of your business processes and as part of your business applications.
Let’s go back to the dashboard and see how David owns companies again. We’re starting with a very simple visualization and it looks like David has a straightforward ownership structure. He is the 100% owner of two companies. The + indicates that we know more, and we see that David owns 27% of Semdor, which has another five additional subsidiaries. We are now four levels away from David and we can see that he is the ultimate beneficial owner of multiple companies.
How much more productive and accurate could your research team be, using part of our BusinessGraph, especially when you take into account that other cases are significantly more complex? We can show you a couple at our booth.
If you expand the ownership structure of Semdor, we see a common theme of ownership around SM InvestCo, and we see joint management, and we can identify an individual who we already know. It’s Jesse. He is part of our existing contact network, which is indicated with the orange icon. If we want to learn more about David and his investments, we should probably talk with Jesse.
Your Company’s Business Network Insights
Think about it: If you need to understand complex organizations, how would you apply Business Network Insights? In Sales & Marketing to open doors? Risk, Fraud, Compliance to detect bad actors? In forensic research to find a needle in the haystack? Or even in Data Management to enrich and improve your customer data? Again, a couple of minutes ago, our knowledge of David was confined to a business card. Now we have an understanding of him as part of a business network and have a good understanding whether we should engage in this business relationship or if we should be careful.
What about your company?
I’m pretty sure they are great opportunities and powerful risks just one, two, three steps away from your current business. The question is: Can you see them?
